A.P. Herron (23 September 1923-13 January 1945)
A.P Herron was born September 25, 1923 in Laura, Virginia. He enlisted in the Army on September 30, 1943, and joined Easy Company after the Normandy campaign.
Herron served with 1st platoon through The Netherlands and in December 1944 headed to Belgium with the rest of the 101st Airborne in defense of the town of Bastogne.
Sadly, in January, 1945, he was killed in action during fighting in Foy. He is listed on the memorial dedicated to Easy Company in the Bois Jacques.
Herron's two brothers, Garney and Vernon, also served in Europe and thankfully both survived the war.
